What funding may cover
- Full Cost of Study or Partial Cost of Study depending on award and programme
Academic progression
- Honours and postgraduate calls have current programme-specific academic requirements.
- For 2027 Master's and Doctoral funding, the NRF minimum academic requirement is 65% for the previous degree.
- Full Cost of Study can be awarded to qualifying South African citizens/permanent residents who are financially needy, living with a disability, or exceptional academic achievers.

- Continuing funded Master's/Doctoral students submit progress reports where required.
